About Us

Lijun Bian, M.D., M.Ac.

I am a certified acupuncture practitioner by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and a licensed acupuncturist in Commonwealth of Virginia. I am also an acupuncture detoxification specialist certified by the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. Additionally, I am certified by the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (CCAOM) for Clean Needle Technique (CNT).  Currently, I am a member of the Acupuncture Society of Virginia (ASVA).

I graduated from Hebei Medical University in Shijiazhuang, China. After graduation, I pursued my passion in medical research and worked in different medical specialties, such as OB/GYN, ophthalmology, anesthesiology, and biological science. My passion for alternative medicine finally guided me to Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH). In 2017, I graduated with master degree of acupuncture.

With extensive knowledge of both western medicine and oriental medicine, I form individualized treatment plans for each of  my patients. My practice style and treatment philosophy integrate many different disciplines of acupuncture with modern medicine. My treatment goals are to re-establish perfect balance between Yin and Yang, keep a smooth flow of Qi/Energy and Blood around the body, and harmonize Zang-Fu (internal organs). My passion is to use acupuncture and other modalities of oriental medicine to help people prevent illness and improve their health.
